Part One:
Flood Repair and Mitigation on Kananaskis River
Restoration of critical flood plain areas along Kananaskis river by re-aligning existing river bank to suit pre-flood conditions
Partial lowering of Kananaskis River bed by selective scalping of gravel bars
Debris exclusion by construction debris control dikes at select locations
River bank protection at vulnerable river reaches, including riprap
Construction of environmental enhancement features, such as vegetation on river banks and root wads in river channel
Reclamation of construction areas
Flood Repairs and Flood Mitigation on Evan Thomas Creek
Restoration of pre-flood channel locations
Lowering of creek bed level to original design level
Provision of large containment dikes on both sides of the design channel alignment
Bank protection along both left and right bank containment dikes
Widening of flood way channel at downstream end
Construction of environmental enhancements features, such as access for wildlife over riprap bank protection works, root wads in active creek channel
Riparian vegetation at select locations within and alongside floodway and reclamation of construction areas
Part Two:
Evan Thomas Creek Crossing – Water and Wastewater Relocation
Shutdown isolation and temporary servicing for water and sanitary lines
Realignment of approximately 100 lm of 500 mm HDPE waterline including removal and disposal of existing main, and supply and install new main
Realignment of approximately 80 lm of 100 mm HDPE sanitary forcemain, including removal and disposal of existing forcemain, and supply and install new forcemain
Testing, startup and cleanup of new water main and sanitary forcemain
