After a lengthy prequalification review and competitive bid process, Devcon was selected to carry out this county project. It entailed detouring traffic and a creek, the demolition and disposal of an existing bridge, creating and installing a new bridge, and backfilling asphalt before reinstating the road.

Site mobilization and road closure

Site mobilization involved carrying out a road closure, implementing a traffic diversion, and installing temporary fencing for livestock.

Creek diversion and environmental control

Re-directed the watercourse to meet environmental protection requirements. Installed a diversion that safeguarded the aquatic environment and permitted continuous water passage.

Bridge structure removal

Excavated, demolished, removed and disposed of the deteriorated bridge structure culvert.

Subgrade preparation

Prepared, regraded, and compacted sub-grade for the installation of a new 2.7m diameter corrugated pipe bridge.

Pipe installation and road reinstatement

Sourced, delivered, and fastened a 47m length corrugated steel pipe. Backfilled, completed end treatments, reinstalled asphalt, and restored regular traffic flow.
